How does it work?
Grace Café is a non-profit pay-what-you-can-afford café. Our food is not free; we ask that you pay what you can afford. If you cannot afford your food today, we will gladly feed you. We ask that when you do have something to donate, you will pay what you can afford.
This model is built on honesty, generosity, and community. Whether you're in need or want to help others, everyone eats.
Who are we?
Grace on the Go is a mobile food trailer in Danville, KY. We offer a daily changing healthy menu of soups, salads, sandwiches, and specials. We offer gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. The main difference between Grace and other restaurants is how you pay for your meal.
Our mission is to increase food security in the Danville-Boyle County community by providing access to healthy food on a pay-what-you-can basis.
No prices?
Our menu does not have prices, because we operate on a pay-what-you-can model. This approach allows us to welcome all guests equally. This reflects our mission that everyone deserves access to healthy food.
How does it work?
Find our location on Facebook, Instagram, or our website, and check out the menu for that day. Come to the trailer and order some delicious food. We take cash, cards, and Venmo. There are multiple ways to pay for your food:
Pay what you can afford
Pay what you would typically pay somewhere else
Pay it forward to help a neighbor
Kids under 12 eat free from the kids’ menu.
What we are not:
Our cafe model sometimes confuses people, so we wanted to help explain that we are not...
A soup kitchen,
Using recycled food,
Using leftover food from restaurants or grocery stores,
Only for certain types of people
What is food insecurity?
Food insecurity means a lack of consistent access to enough safe and nutritious food for an active and healthy life. It can be the result of various factors:
Low income and unemployment
Lack of affordable housing
Chronic health conditions
Lack of transportation
Systemic barriers to opportunity
How can you help:
Grace on the Go is a non-profit that needs support from you to sustain itself. When you “pay it forward,” you're doing more than covering the cost of a meal—you’re nourishing your community. To keep us rollin’ along, you can:
Come eat at our trailer
Bring your friends, family, or office coworkers to our sites
Post to social media about your meal
Share our posts on your social media accounts
Donate money to our operations
